Let’s hear it for the Fathers

Let’s hear it for the Fathers,

The Daddies, Papas and Pops.

Even though they snore and fart

They’re generally the tops.

Let’s hear it for the Fathers;

The chuckers in the air,

The swingers round in circles,

And the cuddlers on the chair.

Let’s hear it for the Fathers

The bad and crazy dancers

Let’s hear it for the homework helps

Who think they have the answers.

Let’s hear it for the Fathers

The piggy backers and “horsies”

The married dads, the single dads,

The ones who’ve got divorces.

Let’s hear it for the Fathers;

The cabs and cash machines,

The tellers-off and bouncers

With the mean and moody teens.

Let’s hear it for the speechmakers,

The walkers down the aisle.

Let’s hear it for the grandfathers

Who always make us smile.

Let’s hear it for the Fathers

On earth, or in the sky

Whether by our sides or in our hearts

You’ll always be close by.

Let’s hear it for the Fathers

Who try to do their best.

We may not say so every day

But we know that we are blessed.
